Well it had to happen sometime.
I went out for a quick flight today as the wind was about 15mph from the west, this makes flying the the lead in on the bridge to Anna maria island
real nice for micro sloping. I was flying for about 35-40mins and started getting a little cocky and bringing the boomer back as far behind the hill to gain speed for the next run into the lift. Well, I brought it back just a bit too far and the world beater 4.8 oz. perfect Boomer got cought in the rotor.
well to make a long story short. The rotor fliped it in a complet circle over the rail and right on to RT64, before I could get to it it tryed to bench press a lexus driven buy some old women. Ran the Dam thing right over just off center.

Damage: EPS squished approx 1/16 in compression

Control horns shattered
wire came of battery
1 control arm on servo broken
tail broke at mounting plate (otherwise just a tire track on tail)
everything else is fine!!!!!
I was cringing bad as the car just squished it 5 ft away from me, I was sick till I saw that I could actually fix it.

most likely she didnt although i am glad it was already down when a car came.

So I guess that means that you now have a new (thinner) airfoil to try out (with cool tire tracks) ...R... p.s. let it know if it flys any better

Try that with any non EPP model!

Anything other than that nice flat flying wing profile would have been toast.

Randy, I was going to make another foam cutter to try the new thinner airfoil, but this method is quick, easy, and makes use of the old airfoil, heheeh.

I am glad to see that the tire tracks go with the airflow (no drag) ...R...

we were flying at a field and a guy hit the powerlines and as his graphite fell, it made its way to the street. IT sat in the middle of the lane facing perpendicular to traffic unharmed... As the guy wen to get it along came a car and crunch, right over it... Some people are jsut clueless I guess. How do you miss a 3m plane??? anyhow, the only damage was to the boom... the wing escaped unharmed. a new fuse and he ws ready to go!

PS: I know the lure of a good slope is irresistable, but it sounds like your site is a bit close to the indidineous personel and their mass transit....
