Just saw this patent drawing that reminds me of Gene's C-47.
It wouldn't take much to convert it over to this model.

Hi,

Several months ago I finished my Gene Bond design C121 Constellation. Built to original plans from 6mm Depron with ailerons, elevator and rudder.

The specification is as follows:
4 x Emax BL1806/25 brushless outrunners with GWS 5 x 3 DD props
4 x 10A Hobbywing speed controllers (+separate UBEC)
9g servos for elevator and rudders (all 3 rudders linked)
5g servo for each aileron
3S 1300mAh Lipo

6mm carbon tube spar in each wing, with Aluminium tube joiner to give required dihedral.

CofG set 75mm back from root of wing leading edge

Weighs 685g including 1300mAh Lipo

Full throttle = approx 200W, considerably less required for 'normal' flying

Flies great, has done about 20 flights now, thanks Gene for the plans.

Regards,

Dominic

Nice video with the pilot of Spooky at Oshkosh - also shows some shots of DC-3/C-47s in formation:

Looking at some color D-Day footage, and what do I see? C-47s galore! Towing gliders and dropping troops. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...KrJAYTRyI&t=36

Trying foam board with the plans (didn't have Depron) with 400B GWS brushed motors, 25a ESC and 7.4v. Maiden's waiting on better weather. Fly or fail? Stay tuned.

Had the Hawks' maiden yesterday. It floats great but couldn't get much flight. On the 3rd attempt I borrowed a friends battery (7.4 1000mah instead of my 7.4 12000mah) and bigger props. Seemed to help but to no avail. The plane weighs 1 Lb. 9 oz. The motors are GWS EM300H with a Turnigy 30A brushed ESC. This is my build and maiden video ...
