Brushless setup for a Ripmax Alliance?

Hi

I'm looking at upgrading the motor and battery setup in my Ripmax Alliance

Can anybody please advise a good brushless motor, prop, esc and LiPo battery setup that will give a greater then 1:1 power to weight ratio yet give flight times in excess of 8-9 minutes or greater? or am I expecting too much?

Cheers n beers
George

I've been using the B-40S Hacker; initially with the 1400 ma 7 cell nicad packs and 10-7 APC slowblyer prop; even with the heavy nicads, T/W greater than 1:1. With 2400 lipos, should be even better.

Thanks for the reply

What sort of duration are you currently getting?

A couple of clubmates have Axi 2212/20's with 3S PolyQuest 1800's. Endless vertical and with throttle management over 20min flying time.

I have the same setup in mine but as yet unflown.

Duration with the B-40S, 4.4:1 gear box and the nicads was about 5 minutes, mostly full throttle; Have not flown it with the Lipolys as yet. Power was unbelieveable however. One of the new outrunners would probably be a good choice also, though I don't know if they will fit in the cowl.
