Question
Reducing Noise

My wing warrior eZipper is pretty quiet most of the time, but when I fly full throttle it gets kind of noisy. I have heard that if you move the motor further away from the back of the wing the noise is reduced.
However, I can't move the motor further back than it is because my wing is already a bit tail heavy, so can I cut out some of the foam that is behind the prop to lessen the noise. Thanks.

Yes, that does help. I cut out a half-circle, about 4" wide on either side of the motor mount on my zagnutz and it reduced the noise dramatically.

Thanks for confirming my idea. I am going to try it as soon as my battery charges.

My charger lost the race against the sun.
But I made the cut outs and did some bench tests. The noise has significantly decreased.

Yes, the prop saver works great.
My dad had the same motor and the prop got caught in the grass when landing. The bell of the motor was bent slightly, so now I use a prop saver. I have only had the rubberbands break once after a rather hard landing.

I managed to do a flight test at lunch time.
The plane, which I used to be able to hear quite loudly 200 ft away, now is almost inaudible doing WOT 200 ft away. This experiment is a complete success.

Thanks for the photo. I can clearly see what I have to do to my zagnutz.

No problem DOM.

Tgmtgm I didn't have any fiber tape in that particular spot and have crashed often so I think I'll be fine.

Is this setup quieter than a tractor setup?

It's about as quite as my slowstick with a gearbox, and that's the only tractor I have.
