How would you wind this 9 pole, 34mm Tape Drive?
Hi all,
I found a dumpster delight, prime for diving. This was a HP tape backup, with a 34mm stator. I think I can fit 5x4x2 mags in it. I was thinking normal wye connection on an ABCABCABC with 12 magnets, or the AaABbBCcC with 10 magnets. I have no clue which would be better for hovering, and still fit a CC phx10 speed control. My SWAG is 25 turns of 26 ga., but again, I have no idea. I think it's wound with 30 ga. now. I have the radio shack assortment of 22, 26, and 30 ga. for wire. Thanks in advance, Rich |

Wind it ABCABCABC with 12 magnets lots less noisy plenty of power.
How many amps can you supply and how many rpms and thrust do yo need? That's how you wind it. |

23 turns of 22ga.?
How about that? 23 turns of 22 ga. wire? for 2 cells?
I'm not sure what the metric sizes are, or if I have any way to measure. Anyone Know what the .56mm and .71mm equivelants are in guage? BTW thanks for the help so far, and I'm going for a single, like the powerditto shockie. Rich |
