Vote for best wing (fastest, most acrobatic) on stock motor setup....

Of course i cannot add all wings to this poll, so I'll concentrate on the most common 36"-48" wings (no twin motor versions) with Speed 400 motor and their recommended battery setup. Please, anyone feeling left out, i simply didn't know your wing, or i simply forgot about it.

Please keep in mind, this is about the performance on the STOCK setup. Brushless is a different animal.

This is about speed and acrobatics, not about stability and floating (read: not the best beginner wing, but best intermediate/expert wing.

Interesting first pick for sure....didn't see that coming. Also one of the few wings I personally haven't flown yet.

<edit> actually only one out of 4 wings off that list that i haven't flown yet. Scary thought by itself. Not flown: Slayer, both rcworks wings, ZagiXS.

Well, I wouldn't pick a 36"er for a sp400, and as far as i know the WW stuff is the best for the final product. As far as I know.

The raider is not a good choice for sp400 (too heavy), but the slayer is designed pretty well around a stock setup IMHO.

Frame, maybe i start another poll for wings under 36" wingspan at a later point.

Raptor, good explanation about the slayer choice.....might consider it for my next wing.

Wedgie
I realize that the Wedgie has a 34" span and perhaps that is why you left it out? The Wedgie will do a genuine 60mph with a speed 400 motor and eight cells. It is extremely stable and very maneuverable when the CG is right (dive test barely pulls out).
I am on my second Wedgie (32") driven by 3S1P Kokam 1500 & 7.2 Volt speed 400 timed and broken in. It is a terrific performer.
I also own a Zagi Tazz, a second eZipper (Mega 16/15/4, eight cells), a three year old Mini SpeedWing (3S1P eTec 700s, GWS 3x2), I'm building a Unicorn and planning a 30" Wedgie with a Mega 16/15/3 & 3S1P iRate 2600s).
This latter Wedgie should do an honest 90 mph on the level. I chose the Wedgie planform because I know it will be stable and predictable at any speed it can fly.

To be honest, i forgot the wedgie (not very common wing) but, like you also mentioned, it's under the 36" wingspan. I'll include it in the next poll (36" and under). You have a link to the manufacturer?

I like my eZipper, but I accidentally voted for the Unicorn. I don't even know how it flies either.

Very viable with a stock 400.

Btw, i also have my opinion but it's limited since i have not flown 4 of the planes on this list. I'll vote sometime later when more people have voted.

That's kind of a squirrely option for sp400, isn't it?

I actually think that the new lightning-50 would be a great sp400 wing, even though noone I know of has tried it.

It seems so far that the eZipper is quite popular, considering that one vote for the Unicorn was a mistake and belongs to the ezipper as well.

Interesting. I thought this poll would come out with one wing in particluar as a clear winner (won't mention it yet), but it might not happen afterall.

RANSWrench, i posted another poll for the smaller wingspan wings.
