Only one way to find out. Perhaps I might start a new thread when I start this project. Save cluttering this F-16C one with a fiddlers green/WWII project, although this thread as turned into a bitsa threat anyway! LOL!

Some news on the aussie front; I re-maidened the PC9 which much more success, the problem I mentioned in my last post was due to some major interference. Ended up being the new ALIGN ESC combined with some local radio interference on the day as nearly lost a couple other birds.. anyway, after swapping out the ESC and RX to be safe, she's great flying plane now: Here's a video of it's remaiden:

http://static.rcgroups.com/gallery/d...emaiden_01.wmv

As for the F-4... she's on permanent hold for now, the weight is nearly tipping 800g with motors and battery installed and I doubt the twin brushed 480's will do much for it as I'd expect AUW weight will end up being around 1200g. So I'm thinking of some other projects I could use the fan setups in and thought of this...

Has anyone ever been into the Fiddlers Green paper models? I used to love building them a few years back and then I had a brain wave a little while back; how would a person go with using depron instead of cardboard and scaling them up to leccie size? Then I hit these forums and found that I'm certainly not the first person to think that so I'm thinking of trying the Me262 with the two fan units. Would have to make some kind of internal structure to fit the fans and support them on the wings but still feasable if make light.

But perhaps for a start I might have a go at the P-40 or FW190 and use a brushed 480 in d/drive just to get a feel for using this style of construction.

Any thoughts anyone?

If I remeber correctly, Thomas Nelson has done some work up-scaling Fiddlers Green aircraft. You might want to PM him with your questions.

Thanks Paul, I saw a number of his posts looking through the threads that resulted in a 'fiddlers green' search.

this FW-190 is standing only some km away from me.
Wasnīt there before, but I know, that I can take a lot of detail

Now I'm jealous mine isn't looking as tidy! LOL! But I'm rushing my 262!!

So far so good anyway, I havn't used a drop of glue, everything is just stuck with decent quality clear tape and is holding up surprisingly well. Tomorrow I'll start working on making a tough balsa frame for the wings so I can have something rigid to mound the EDF's and ducts too, then a matter of sticking up the nacells around them, fitting all the servos and control surfaces, find a spot for the battery so I can CG it out and we're off for a maiden... I think this thing is going to hook!! AUW of the fuse and wing is only 130G!!! very cool!, it's light as a feather, if i pick it up and throw it it just floats in the air and flutters down. The sp480's will add some punch to it though!

BTW, the material is 3mm depron (courtesy of Hans!) with thin plastic sticker label stuck on top which has the colour and outline from fidders green plans printed on it with high quality laser printer. Amazing how much extra strength the sticker gives to the depron.

WS is just shy of 1200mm (or 47.24" for the imperially inclined).

Congratulation Carl. Youīve got a very good idea.

Wow, 130g! Thatīs perfect!

This is going to be a great Messerschmidt Me-262!

LOL, looks like, you couldnīt stop the labelprinting
after all these days of printerwork.

Adriel, I think itīs much better you order some depron
from a local shop near you.
The parts, Iīve sent to Carl are not much bigger than
food trace. So it doesnīt make much sense.

This is 170g depron and printing tape.

Iīve rolled the 3mm depron fuselage before sticking the tape.

ws: 105 cm
