Here's what might work.

1. Cut a small slit at the bottom of the bubble.
2. Fill the void with glue or WBPU.
3. Starting at the top of the bubble, squeegee the air/glue mixture out toward the bottom. The trapped air and extra glue will flow out of the slit.
4. Surface tension should hold the silkspan in place until the glue dries.

Well, at least it sounds good on paper.

It's sure worth a try over repainting! The slits will still show some but will look better than the bubbles. I'll let you know how it works.

Congrats GOK, great looking F-16, great maiden!! I have said it before but no harm saying again, it is, in my opinion one of the finest foamie pusher jet designs.

We'll get this, somethings just take time.
Here's a sitrep on the progress. I cut off the old mount. Installed the stick mount. CN knows I don't like stick mounts. Pain to get straight, very hard I think to change thrustlines once they are glued in. Anyway, it's in, motor mounted and everythings a go.....except. I wonder if I should leave some room around it like the one pic shows( had to cut out the opening because of the lower motor off the stick mount. Or use a balsa piece cut to fit closer?
I also wonder if part of the secret of the F-4E cooling is that the motor sticks out a ways like the pic shows? If so I'll have to cut and splice a longer piece in on the stick. See why I don't like stick mounts? I need to make a decision on this so I can try it again. But we have severe weather coming down on us again. So it might be awhile before I try it.

J you have the engine intake closed off to house the battery don't you? Having that open to some degree to pipe some air in to the motor would seem like the best option to me. Can you run some ducting back to the motor from there?

J, you realy got to get that motor out in the air, there will never be enough going throu the fuse to keep them cool. Unless you open the tail pipe completly.

The whole in back has to be bigger than than the whole in front.

Hey John,
Yes it does help to have it sticking out a bit. Convection cooling is a big part of it. If it is behind the cowl, it recieves no benefit of the cool air around it. When it is behind the cowl it's like being in an oven

Well, here is what I wound up with. It is almost exactly the same as the F-4E. CN and I talked about it and decided too much air might be back pressure too thereby reducing circulation. So I closed( taped) the upper openings shut and extended the motor stick to get her out there.

That looks great J!

Now I think we need to try changing your ESC setting too I like these on mine;

No Brake
Soft cut off
Auto Lipo
Hard start or Fast start
timing is tough because every Castle Firmware version is different! Try high timing, and read your watt meter, then low timing and read your watt meter. If the motor stitters on low timing, you have no choice but to use high timing. Also check it through the entire throttle range to be sure it is smooth. Sometimes low timing with newer firmware version will cause a motor stutter at 1/2 throttle. Basically the best timing setting will be the one that allows smooth running and lowest watt reading

I personally have found that an "OLD" firmware version 1.13 works the best, but I have not played with the newest after 1.54. Let me know what you end up with. I like the way it looks back there no I think that will do it!

Just to clarify something really quick, I have found that higher timing can often lead to higher amps with no real gain in performance. Many times as many as 5 amps for only 500 rpm's
