Cox Hobbies did a line of RC planes based on the Star Wars stuff. Didn't sell very well or fly that well either.
They had a clear plastic canard up front for the Xwing fighter with engine in back.

Did you ever finish this experiment? If so how did the set up perform on one of your F-16's?

No, I havenīt done it. One 2408/21 is in Adrielīs F/A-28 design
and the otherone is going into the x-wing.

Franck is using a 2408/21 on 3s1p and 7x6 in his F-16C.

Here are some x-wing pictures from, today.
AUW will be 390g. BM 2408/21, 3s1p1550, ~7x6 prop.
I hope the weather will cooperate tomorrow for a possible maiden flight. The c/f tubes and taileron servos have to be glued in and the electric has to be in place, before. ~2hours work.

Cross your fingers, please.

HJ

PS: Iīm still thinking about clear fixed canards and clear vertical fins between the wings, out of CD covers.

That looks fantastic Hans! Even weathered like the ones in Star Wars. I'm crossing my fingers & toes! Looks like a very difficult maiden but you are the "King of Maidens". Good luck my friend!

H-J,

That is so cool man! Wow! Great job, that is really something. Man you are a super fast builder, this is like the 2nd plane you've built in 2 weeks! I hope it flies great. That is really cool to see.

All right! I can't wait to watch this video! Congratulations.

EDIT: Wow! Man that was cool. I really like the soundtrack addition. Made it look like the real thing, except on EARTH! great job, it looks like it flew well! That's too bad that the motor was giving you trouble. Was it OK after the landing? That was so cool though, great job! It is so much fun to see that someone actually built an x-wing that flew well!
Man, I'd like to build one of those sometime, would you say that it flew pretty well with the regular airframe the way it is now, or do you think clear plastic canards or vert. stabilizers would need to be added for best performance?
that was fun to watch, thanks for posting the video Hans!

Well, there are some modifications. There are very small canards along the fuselage and wind leading plates between the wings in fuselage area.

Yes, BG John, itīs not easy to tell which way is up, so I landed the x-wing on the side.

I cannot read 188 pages, so please forgive me if someone already posted this question:

Some one tried out to make an EDF version of this beauty? (I means the F16)

I do not think this one has been done in EDF: all the internal construction gets in the way.

There is Thomas Nelson's foamy F-16 that has been done with EDF. www.parkjets.com is probably the easiest way to find it (with links to threads here).
