Doculam thickness

Anyone know which grade of Doculam Tom Hunt uses on his models?

they sell 1.5 mil and 3.0 mil

I emailed the Laminator's Warehouse site you posted and they said everyone uses the 1.5 mil...I bought 2 rolls of 9" wide by 500' and love it! Ya can't beat the price. Now if one of you techno-gurus out there could tell me how to dye the stuff, I'd be ecstatic. By the way, you can peel the 1 mil polyethylene adhesive layer off and you get .5 mil polyester (Mylar) film like the free-flight guys sell but cheaper. I haven't checked but my guess is the .5 mil layer is lighter than Reynolds Wrap but I'm afraid that the shrinkage (and warping power!) is too great for ultralight indoor slowflyers.
