Guillows/Sterling rubber model R/C conversion?

I've been wanting to get into indoor/parkflyers for some time now. I was wondering with the light and small R/C equiptment available today, is it possible to convert one of those rubber models made by Guillows or Sterling to an electric park flyer? What do you think it would take in terms of flight gear? NiCd or NiNH batteries? Coreless of ferrite motor? How small? Help, there's too much to know!! Thanks.

take a look at Model Airplane News, November 1999: there is a good and exaustive article from Tom Hunt converting a Dumas 30-inch Bearcat. He uses a Titanic Airlines/Graupner Speed 280 combo with a 7x6 prop and 8x 350 (150)cells. He says that is possible to convert the Guillows kits 3/4 inch scale like Corsair or Hellcat. I'm building the Corsair from Guillows and intend to use the same combination. Good luck and fly safe!

Do a search under "conversion" or "rubber Conversion".

The lighter the better, but each plane will have specific gear depending on what it is.
