F-27 Stryker How Far Can You Take It? Part 2

Hey Everyone, Greetings from Chuck D.

WELCOME TO: F27 STRYKER HOW FAR CAN YOU TAKE IT....PART 2

This thread is dedicated to the love and modification of the F27 Stryker. Those who fly it know...passion quickly takes hold. It's not about 'why' here...it's about 'how'. How do we push it faster, harder, and make this plane do things it has not done previously.

Of course, we spend a good amount of time swapping ideas, too.

I encourage you to visit the first thread to get an idea of what is going on here...then get a fuselage of your own and run with it...hard.

....and we are all obviously are doing something right...they had to split the first thread. If you want to see it check it out at: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=305712[/url]
The moderator started this second thread for us and then moved my greeting up here to replace his.

There are 2 ways to subscribe.

1) click on [thread tools] at the top of the page
2) post a comment (if you have the 'subscribe to posts' option turned on)

If you don't have anything to say, it's probably better to use option 1.

About spliting the thread, I believe it is a policy on this forum to try and keep threads from getting much bigger than 500 posts. Otherwise they just get BIGGER and BIGGER and BIGGER until they EXPLODE!!!

Now you wouldn't wan't that to happen would you?

For those who did not see the first thread...ROCK AND ROLL is a GO!!!!

After four conversations with Hobbyco (Futbaba's Tech Support)...they scratched their heads and I have not heard anything since. Disheartened, I got in the truck with my son, and started driving south...at least an hour...when POOF!!! Suddenly it all made sense. I turned around for the hour ride back...changed my sons diaper...and told my wife I would be out in a few hours. Inspiration took hold.

I have used 6 of the 7 P-mixes on my 9C...and it all worked...trim tabbing and all...it was poetry...pure and unadulterated bliss.

For those who have not seen the coming attractions of this weekend...feast your eyes on an F27 STRYKER 'ROCK AND ROLL' with AIRBRAKES!!!

Let's keep pushing...and again...Welcome to thread #2!!!

I'm "subscribing" so I can keep getting e-mails from rcgroups.com when ever someone post something interesting about the stryker!!!!!

That's the reason I'm "SUBSCRIBING"!

I guess your mouth(typing) reacts faster than your brain

thanx flappy for the info on how to subscribe

One subscribes via the "thread tools" menu. The secondary option is to post a message, that automatically subscribes you.

My fingers reacted in perfect harmony with my brain. Evidently, I understand the system better.

Jimmy....I don't think they are that cheap anymore. This last weekend I picked up one at my LHS and just the fuse with nose was $33. The motor mount was another $4 and the fins another $8. When you add shipping to the Hobby Zone price (when they have them) they aren't cheap anymore.

Gone are the $1212 VW, 19 cent/gal gas and the $19 Stryker

Chuck, this is the theme from top gun, right? First minute of the movie, with planes shooting from cats and all that nonsence.

FC,
I think your LHS is jacking up the price. My LHS is charging $19 with the nose cone (I don't believe they are available with out it). I have heard of a shop across town charging $25, but they are know as a retail plus shop.

I'm still using my original motor mount, fins and canopy cover. Regardless, $19 or even $33 is still cheaper than one dinner at a resturant or a tank of gas in my SUV!
