The 260 motor system is 1/2 ounce lighter, but more importantly it uses about half the current of the 280 motor so you can use a 270 mah NiMhd pack. This results in a weight difference of 2 ounces (approx). The 260 motor system can be used in planes that come in at 7-9 ounces. I prefer this to the GWS motor systems because these systems for two reasons. The GWS drive system is fragile and easily broken in a crash, The GWS motors used in the drives doi not have CF brushes and burn out fairly easily. When GWS does come out with the new CF brushed motors installed in their drives I would start using them again. The cost will be higher for these drive/motor systems.
