Micro profile biplane
Inspired by the many varied 3D foamy models that can be seen within this forum, I have today been creating one of my own - for my Feigao BLIPS with DXA B-ratio gearbox.
Wingspan is only 20 3/4" The propeller in the picture is an 8043. Interplane struts from balsa will be added after the colour trim. Keven.

The model is all 3mm depron - but for the vertical fuselage component - which is from 6mm depron, and the rudder - which is ex foamboard, and 5mm thick.
The the output shaft of a GWS DXA gearbox is offset 3mm from the face of the stick onto which it is pushed. This I used to my advantage, and have stuck the motor stick directly to the right hand side of the fuselage, bringing the thrustline right onto the centreline of the profile fuselage. ![]() Four Tower Pro 5g servos are now fitted, along with Phoenix10 and a GWS Naro6 receiver. Weight with a 2S-750 lipo in the slot over the lower wing... but with no colour trim or undercarriage, is only 6oz. ![]() More pics after I make the control connections. Keven.

![]() Wow - that is light. Nevertheless I will fnish it, and see how well it goes. ![]() The Feigao is a very capable little motor - and I am a rather incapable '3D' pilot. Between the two I might manage to have it going rather well within the flight envelope I can cope with...! ![]() It looks like the model will weight about 7.5oz when done - this motor and gearbox can easily manage that with the correct propeller. A 9070 will make for very interesting flying at almost 7oz static. I'd better buy new bicycle clips... Keven.

STRINGFLY,
I love the Snoopylution ! I originally had my B ratio BLIPS in a 24" monoplane, HERE, and thought that going smaller would be prudent.Perhaps I was wrong ? I have only a pair of 2S-750's with which to play at the moment; I'll bet that these are the same weight as your 3S-450's... at only 1 1/4oz each ? There's the upgrade, before I even begin flying... ![]() Keven.

Previous to the 24" model in the above link, I made a monoplane of 28" - which flew GREAT, but was rather fast !
HERE I think my next will be another bipe of the same size as the Snoopylution ![]() Lower wing loading = slower flying... ![]() Keven.

Robin,
I have nowhere to fly indoors... ![]() Unless you count the living room - which the missus does not ! ![]() Sebastian, What specs is your lightweight CDR ? (edit) It's not one of those 10g motors from Stout-Aero... or is it ? ![]() Stout Aero 10g motors (edit) I rewound a gobrushless CDR yesterday morning with 14T of 26awg in three colours - Wye. It goes great on 2S with a 6" x 4" prop. ![]() I'm not sure it is suitable for anything like this biplane - even a smaller one - but I do have an idea for something... Keven.
