I am probably doing all of the things that you should not do, but this is what I have on one plane:
43" Span, 48oz, AF 035G, 8 cell CP1700.
Using a standard HS 81 (plastic Gears) with spiderwire, 30# test tied directly to the servo arms, then crossed to make a proper exit from the plane to the rudder. I am even using a steerable tailwheel attached directly to the rudder.
I had to cut into the covering yesterday to tighten the lines up a bit, but have thus far never stripped a gear.
