Big Air Day at Peterson Butte

Finally a more typical Oregon big air day. Solid 25, with long periods of 30 to 40 kts.

It was even fairly warm out though the wind chill was a bit intense.

Thanks combat guys for giving me clear bowl so I could fly the heavy iron in my usual ballistic fashion.

Here are a few shots of the combat squad. Blow backs were severe!

enjoy

Paul

Wackyd tossed my 10 lb Raider for me, but held on a fraction too long and the ground turbulence sucked the Raider straight down nose first into the slope rocks. It hit hard enough so it bounced and I hit full up, and it took off again, but now banked about 90 degrees, the right wing tip hit on the grass, and I managed to pull it level agian and took off across the face. Whew! having the CG set way to neutral for the conditions did'nt help either!

Flew the Renegade with 2.5 lbs of gravity assist......went fast enough to peal off one of the wing gap seals and I fluttered the full flying rudder severely doing 130 ish. Fun Fun day.

Did I not rip?

Argh...what a good sport...and nice save Paul.

To think I was busting my rear at work while you guys had a great day on the slope... But alas, as predicted this whole winter: good wind during the week and no wind during the weekend .
