"Cool Running" 25A Brushless ESC

I just saw this 25A BL ESC here: http://www.aeromicro.com/Catalog/coo...sc_3976665.htm

Anyone know anything about these? I've never heard of them.

Sounds nice on paper and that's a very good price.

I've never heard of that esc. For a little more money why not just get a Castle Creations controller, can't go wrong with that.

Yes, the CC is very good, but it's alway better to have more options and competition to force the prices down.

Also, these things are governed by an evolving technology base. As new components appear (smaller, lighter, better functionality, etc) we should expect to see improved products. These could either come from existing, known suppliers, or from new entries in to the field.

yes the cool runnings is better than cc i know because i have 3 .
i build my own brushless motors and the cool runnings runs all all all of the motors i build(in-runners, out-runners, doubles) no programing or timing changes . it is so easy and performs much better..
after u try the cool runnungs u wil not want to go back to cc.

Too bad they don't make anything over a 35amp though.

I've just managed to get my Align 20A ESC working so I wont be trying one of these in the short term. Originally I had terrible glitching when using this ESC, but not when I used a CC Phoenix-10. However, when I swapped the crystal in my Berg receiver from a GWS to a Berg I stopped getting glitches when using the Align!

Are you surprised that a Berg receiver didn't like a GWS crystal?

Pete , I have read all the info about the Berg crystals being used exclusively with the Berg Recievers but why do retailers sell GWS in place of the Berg ones if they are not compatible or will give issues with the reciever. Do they not know that they will cause problems or do they believe that it is more hype? I am using a GWS with my Berg 4 II and it seems to be OK BUT I certainly do NOT want to have an issue because I was sold a GWS instead of the Berg crystal. What makes the berg crystal the only one to use?

Here's a great question

First off I've never used a "cool-runnings" ESC but they say they are
located in Silly Valley but you go to the contact info and it says
somewhere in cowpoke Nevada... hmmmm

I love the pic of the shop floor which can be taken from almost
anywhere in the Silly Valley. Come on down I'll let everyone take
pics of about 10 of them.

just skeptical and I do like my CC's!!

I can assure you of one thing, Charlie: Those "retailers" don't have Berg's blessing to sell GWS crystals for Berg receivers. That practice is just plain irresponsible and could easily result in injury or worse.

You use Berg crystals in Berg receivers!

Peter Berg said it.
I believe it.
That settles it.

I too believe it now!

I think the GWS crystal was resulting in my receiver being slight off-channel. My Phoenix-10 was obviously putting out less noise than the Align, so I generally wasn't getting glitches. However, the noisier Align (which after all is 20A, not 10A) was putting it over the edge. Oh, also the larger Align (particularly with it's 16 AWG wires) was sitting closer to the receiver (in the miniBOP there isn't a lot of space for electronics). The P-10 had perhaps a centimeter gap. While that might not sound like a lot, the inverse-square law means that the difference between touching the case and 1cm is a lot in terms of electromagnetic interference.

OK, good enough for me too. I will purchase a Berg Micro for my berg 4 stamp.

I have a pocketful of hitec/GWS crystals that I will just put up for sale and buy the Bergs that I need to match my 9CAP radio. I know the Berg Crystals are like 50% higher in cost than the GWS ones.
