I use a 3s 1900mah 10c TP, a 3s 1800 12c CBP, and 2000mah 3s 15c kokam . With a mega 16-15-6, APC 8 X 6E. Goes straight up!

what about stock motor could i use 3 cells 1200 or 1500 without killing the motor?I dont want to go past 1500 they cost way to much hell 40 bucks is to much but 70 to 80 bucks is just insane for a battery.I am looking to use a Great Planes 3 cell 1200 would that do the job in the scooter without doing harm to the batts or the motor?

Paul,
It's not the mah thats going to kill the motor, it's the 11.1v. You will shorten the life of the motor if you were to run at WOT the whole time. A stock 400 can motor on 11.1v will probably pull around 12amps. A little high for it but if you throttle back just a little for some of the flight it should take some abuse and will have a marked increase in performance. At $10.00 these motors are cheap so run em until they die then stick another one in there. Should be fun. Also, the lower mah LiPos are usually a bit lighter, so you'll get more power & less weight. The best of all worlds!

I have seen in several pictures the foam around the motor on the Scooter melting. The Space Scooter has an air inlet on the side of the nose for motor cooling. Has anyone added a scoop to this to improve cooling when running over 8.4v? If so how/what did you use for a scoop?
