Easy way to make a quick, good looking jet

Here is a way for you guys to build a quick little jet. I don't have plans, but it is so simple you don't need them. I just took a pic from the BVMJETS.com web site and blew up the top view to 300%, then tap[ed the pages together and kept doing that to the size I wanted. I made an 18" using a GWS 50 fan and fegio 5800 motor and now last night(took 6 hrs) made the 23 inch version using blue foam and a gws 55 fan and 4200 kv motor.

just cut the whole bottom out, glue on two fuse sides, lay three lyaers on top, sand to shape, cut and hinge ailerons, moutn equipment. Thats it!!

How much did you cut the interior of the fuselage out? Looks great BTW...

Eric,

Didn't have to ciut anything out...........I layed two sides for the fuse and then layed 3 layers of foam on top just gluing and taping one layer at a time to go around curves, then carve to shape and cut a hatch.

Answer your question or no?

Brian

Hi Brian,

Very good, I thought you might have used the techniques that Jetset uses on his designs of layering and sanding to shape then hollowing to lighten.

Cheers,

Very nice, and the price is right!!! I'll bet that it really hauls the coals.

It sort of reminds me of the Matney Models Project-X.

havne't put the bottom fuse on yet, but i use the same technique as the top with just enough depth to clear the servos and horns and rond it and put packing tape on it so it slides along the ground and takes off like My Alpha Mig.

Brian,
Another nice looking BVM jet. Here is one of his other threads on the bandit:

I am trying to get the templates made up into CAD format so we can all have this beauty (bandit). I'm a little new to the cad thing so its slow going.

Nice work on the Bandit Tumbler, I know how building and making it pretty can make it not fly. Very nice job.
