1. Longer lasting, easily obtainable & replaceable main motors
2. Cooling vents thru body over motors & batt 3. Consistant battery quality, replacements plug in from bottom allowing sale of backup batteries and charging of more than 1 pack 4. TX charges to more consistant cutoff voltage 5. Mix and match different color and CLEAR paintable/customizeable bodies that easily snap on and off (one with FLAMES )6. A micro pager one

Hmmm... a thought on motor duration and trim issues...
What about a single motor system with a larger (and brushless) motor. Two gears on the motor shaft, one to turn the lower rotor in current design and one with an intermediary gear to counter-rotate the top rotor. Other than initial rotor pitch adjustment for initial trim it should require little if any future trim adjustments. Brad |

Seems nearly everything mentioned here can be had already. But from megatech's Housefly. I agree that the BR is an awesome toy heli, but it is after all a toy. If you incorperate many of the wants into it the price will go up to probably the same as the Housefly. I would be willing to buy an upgraded model if the upgrades were made for an extra $50.00 or so added to the price tag.

The only change that I see needed ( based on my Blade Runner ) would be motors that last longer. I was able to obtain a replacement set from Paul, thanks Paul! Mine is from QVC and so has the better battery. I have gotten it flying well enough to fly through every doorway etc in my house and have a ball with it. A hearty thanks to Petter for designing such a fun model and thanks to ITC for producing it!
For those who are have problems breaking the rotors give this a try: Wrap a 1" long piece of "Blenderm" tape around the blades at the tips. Blenderm tape works much better than "Scotch" tape. Jerry Combs |

I'll second taping the outer rotor tips. I do top and bottom rotors. Scotch tape works just fine. Std. scotch tape width covers enough of the length and wrapping half way back top and bottom keeps the rotor tips from cracking and chipping when the rotors clash.
Adding the 10mm extra spacer between the rotos make a world of difference too. |

The Solution to Forward Fight
The solution to the forward flight problem is as follows. Tape a penny to the front bottem of the Blande Runner, and this solves the forward flight problem. You dont even need to remove the plastic gard around the tail rotor, aka catkiller mod, unless you want to.

Return to Petter's original concept of using rubber bands and pulleys - no gear meshing problems, no gear wear, easier on motors and rotors, easy to replace a rubber band, very quiet, and I would assume cheaper to produce.

MP4 Player
Hey guys,
Just a suggestion...but how about a MP4 player included too??? <LOL> Kidding aside, really you guys have come up with some great suggestions. Can't think of anything to add. With all the positive input I'm sure the BR is here to stay! __________ Best regards, Ron Osinski aka - GMRO |

Very interesting posts - keep 'em coming....
A few responses to various issues raised in this thread. 1) I did not invent the BR- that honor falls to Petter 2) I manage ITC 3) Yes, the idea behind this thread is to allow us to respond to what *you* want in next gen BRs. |
