BR turns left and trim will not stop it.

Afraid to bend the top rotors to much incase they break? Attach a piece of 1 inch to 1 ½ inch long cellophane tape to each of the top rotor blades as follows: At the tip of blades stick tape approximately 1/8 inch onto the trailing edge then bend tape so there is approximately 1/8 inch hanging over the blade and stick the rest of tape back onto it’s self and on to the bottom of the blades. You have made a 1 1/2 inch long trim flap, now if BR still turns left, bend tape down, turns right, bend it up. If the problem was the BR always turns right, do the same but on the lower blades.

Have you tried this yet? Give it a try and let us know what you find out. You can eliminate fear of breaking blades by the application of a little heat to the area you want to bend down. Or, you can do the opposite, and bend a little pitch out of the opposite rotor. Do some research - This subject has been discussed in the Bladerunner parts 1 and 2 forums (now closed to posting) - look through some of the threads on this page - I posted the links to those parts not long ago. Loads of informatiom on those early pages.

Aloha, Steve

maintenance and rotor issue.

Hello.
I am new to RC and am asking for your advice. I just got Micro Mosquito at Radio Shack for 70 dollars.

1. Where do I buy the charger for the base? 7.5 volts.

2. The spoked wheel that controls the bottom rotor goes in an "eight"(wabbles) how do I fix it?

3. What exactly should i loob? The parts I can see or should I disassemble the little mosquito? Loobing plastic parts a good idea?

Ryz :

#1 - Buy a "wall wart" unit at the same place you bought the MM - at Radio Shack.

#2 - I don't think spare parts for the MM are available yet. Only real fix is to return it for replacement.

#3 - Lube the gear teeth with white lithium grease, and use any kind of non-petroleum-based oil for everyplace else. Graphite fluid, sewing machine oil, teflon, silicone, etc. All available at any hardware store. Do not use WD-40, or 3-in-1 household oil - They can and will do bad things to plastic. The key to knowing where to lube is to look for any place where there is any kind of movement between any two parts - around the mainshaft bushings, between the main gears, The rotor teeter-totter hinge pins and the place where the top rotor shaft passes through the upper main gear. To put it simply, "If it moves, lube it ! "

You have to be sure to use correct spelling when using the search feature in this forum. It can't find misspelled words. "Lube, not loob"

Try reading through this document : it doesn't include the MM, but what is common to the rest of the BRs is also common to the MM. Lots of good information about all the BR family.

Fortunately, the MM has all its moving parts exposed, and easily available for lubing. Remember -anywhere there is motion between any two parts.

Hi guys, I bought a BladeRunner Blackghost and I have an issue with it, everytime I go to full power even if i apply power slowly the helicopter shuts down and the LED starts to blink, even after fully charging it. Does anyone know what the problem/solution might be, or should I return it to the store where I bough it from? Im not very electronically gifted so i do not feel like tearing it apart and scrapping a 60$ toy

Help

I have just recived a blackghost micro helicopter for christmas, after flying it for a few minutes, and having a few bumps and crashes, the bottom rotor does not turn anymore, causing the helicopter to go into a violent spin which eventually results in crashing, what should i do?
Thanks

I've just been given a Blackghost for an Xmas pressie over here in Scotland. It's really cool and nifty (fast).

I'm still trying to achieve my pilot wings on it, I keep crashing it intot he ceiling and objexts in teh house, Christmas tree's, tables and stuff!

Does it help to drink beer in the process of trying to fly it!

lol

Good work on the informative website fella's.

copter doesnt fly

I'd check the gears and motor that drive the bottom rotor. If nothing looks broken or missing . Try using the remote and see if the motor that drives the lower rotor will run. If it doesn't run check the motors wires.

SCOTS-ANDY : Strange that you should ask about the consumption of beer when learning how to fly the BR. I, myself, am a charter member of the BR / BEER fraternity, and after a couple years researching this phenomenon, I have arrived at the following conclusion ---- if you add a couple of "E"'s to the BR, you come up with "BEER" ! Marvelous ! So..... drinking champaigne made out of malted barley and hops is MANDATORY when attempting to master these little buggers ! I'm sure the inventor of the BR family of things flying has poured down his fair share of suds. DRINK ON.......!

Steve
