Dragonfly 150

Just had a customer go and buy a 3D micro heli with ccpm and a stunt mode set up. The LHS told him this was to learn on. This is why folks are crashing. He made the repairs and I traded with him to a 150 DF so that I sold the other to a customer that could fly. Both are happy. As LHS and seasoned pilots, these new people depend on us to give them the right advise. Let's do it. Jarhead

That was very nice of you to help out a new Pilot!

I had a friend go out and buy a gas helicopter and spend around $2000.00 because he said how hard can it be to fly! I offered to teach him on my Dragonfly so he could learn some basic stuff, and I went with him to the hobby store and the kid behind the counter is like yeah this one is our best seller and its easy to learn on and my friend was so green he feel for it and well like going to vegas! he rolled the dice and crapped out!

well at least he has a good radio now!

Ok now a question since you are a better Dragonly flyer then me, th evideo from the ezone shows steve using the lipo battery and the helicopter is real tail heavy and he has the trim all the way up to make it right, ok is your dragonly trimmed to hover in place if you go all hands off or at least just wonder a little left and right! or forward and back!

I know that trimming is half the battle.

I can hover full packs all the time and turn hard left and hard right all the time but when I go nose in I get all out of control should I practice taking off nose in so I get the muscle memory part down!

Just looking for a little help!

The video steve is turning it left and right and it looks so smooth.

Just looking for a little input thanks again!

Robert

Hi Jarhead,

Here is a clip of your buddy doing the demo.

a clip to show you how well Steve can fly!!

Steve told me that he is going to train me to be able to fly like that.

Then I can do the demo with him.

about 1.6 MB

http://www.geocities.com/acceptcreditcard/Steve.wmv

or you can get the file from GWS ftp site

ftp://ftp.gws.com.tw/

file name:steve.zip

Drag the file to your desk top.

Learing right side in hover

Here is a video clip of me learing how to right side in hover.

this is one of the first basic things you should practice and be able to do using a full battery pack!

once you can hover right side in and left side in you will be able to do things like figure eights without ever having to fly nose in even someting so simple is areal crowd catcher.

Just remember Practice Practice Practice.

Dont get frustrated remember when you tried to ride abike the first time!

Here's a pic of my GWS Dragonfly:

It's not exactly stock.. I opted for brushless motors main and tail and MIA Tuff landing struts to complete the "look" of Darthdrk's Cobra body. Very smooth and predictable helicopter!
