SR-7

No more SR-7 lever !!!! Whoooo I, crying !
You are one of the very latest happy owner of a Bob Martin SR-7 sloper. Bob Martin is retreated now and there is no SR-7 or Coyote available in this country anymore. Finish, the end. It's a shame because those planes flew so well, where indestructible and had a very nice and aggressive jet look. Their plastic "Duralene" fuselages were unbreakable, period. But Bob had to stop making them because of an environmental matter. (toxic fumes emanations in the fabrication process...) Enjoy yours and keep it in a safe place ! They will become museum artifacts in a model hall of fame someday ! Great nimble and fast sloper.

OK guys...Question,

I have a boomerang, a beat up FMA Razor, and a Red Herring for the slope. Great planes all but I'm looking for the next level without breaking the bank. Here is my needs.

-No small planes: I have my Herring for light wind, 48" or more would be nice.

-No flying wings: I have enough already

-Durable: This is my primary, site it's full of trees. IMHO balsa ships are a bad idea here.

-Fast: I don't need a Composite Racer but I'd like some speed.

-Cheap, maybe less than $75: That's all I can pay for a bag of foam.

After some searching, this is what I've found. Anyone else have an idea????

$50 for the foam one from Mikes Models.

man, those SR-7s certainly are nice looking. never seen them before this thread, but i sure wish they were still available.

i saw a fiberglass F/A18 slope plane once, which falls into a similar class. it was very nice. anyone know who the manufacturer might be?

mrtim, goto http://www.davesaircraftworks.com and check out the 1-26 2meter. It is 72", all EPP and it the hands of the right pilot will do anything under the sun. I have seen to do some acrobatics that are truely amazing. It is about $70 and the best plane I have had the pleasure to fly! In my area almost everyone has a 1-26 and a zagi they are both standards to use it the rockies (very rocky) it can take a beating and flys AWSOME!!

I have some pictures of my scratch built 1-26 in the air.

Vinnya42, Thanks for the tip. I'll add it to my short list of candidates.

I'm still looking for the Ridge Runt plans or at least a photo copy of the airfoil. I have the Fuse kit with no tail or wing. The picture posted here was the first time I've seen what it looks like. How does it fly????

Oh yeah here are a few planes from my fleet to keep things on topic.

I have other R/C stuff on my site including some nice pics from the San Diego Mid Winter Electric meet and slope pics from Tory Pines.

Mrtim , I'd be happy to fix you up with the plans or whatever for the Ridge Runt , send me a PM and we'll do the deal.

The Runt flys fine for an aileron trainer , the airfoil is flat bottomed so rolls and inverted stuff is so so . Keep the tail light and I recomend a rudder ,you are going to add nose weight so it might as well be a servo. I thought the wing would be week but it is fine @ 16 oz all up weight .

Definitley check out NorthCountyFlyingMachines . The "Moth" would fit your requirements perfectly. That's exactly what I was looking for, ans was not dissapointed. This thing will make a Zagi look like a snail, and I've nosed in to the ground so hard that the earth shook with absolutley no problems. See my picture above to see what it looks like, it's ALL EPP.
