Glad to see my picture is making the rounds. I was going to start a new topic for this very subject just before I saw this one. I have been fitting some of the parts together to get an idea of where everything goes together and have noticed a couple points where a modification will need to be made. On Part GA, the former does not line up with the part by about 1/8 of an inch. I'll attach a picture of what I mean below.

Lets get some more images and building reports posted here... I know Matt, James and I can't be the only ones building this plane.

Looks pretty large - what size EDF units are you using with it?

My original plan was to power it with two MF480 fans with a pair of APL29 motors but seeing the size of this thing I may have to go brushless. I don't know what the final weight is going to be so I may have to hold off on my final motor selection till I get a bit further into the project. Does anyone know how many cells I can throw at the APL29 motors??? Of coarse this all depends on when Robert from Electric Jet Factory finally sends me my fans and motors...

is this a kitted jet or did you have the parts cut for you? The hardest part of this hobby is waiting for the parts!

The Plans and Canopy are from Matt Halton, and the Laser cut parts are from James aka. Admiral_Red (No web site yet). Check out the links up above for more information on this plane.

Check out Matt's site for pics of the completed prototype.

The original plane was intended for tractor IC power. Matt is building a 123%. James and I are building the MF480 100%

Dan's using 10-CP1300s right now in his MF480/AP29L hybrid. Not enough flights to give a report on longevity, but as it is only drawing about 28-29 amps hot off the charger, which is nearly the same as 7 cells on the Ky fan, so it looks hopeful.

Care to try for 11 cells and report back on your findings?

Agreed. But this is because the Ky fan, with it's higher drag, also draws about 35 amps with the AP29L on 8 cells.

Arghh the blasted Gx parts got me again. I have gone back and forth and back and forth with those silly parts. I got my first cut, realized they did not fit, so then I took a piece of balsa, cut another, took it to the office, scanned it, did another overdraw, and then put it into the cutfile. Minor fix, but it is burning me up over here. At least I am pretty sure I applied my notch fix there.

I was going to try AP-29's and 11 cells. Daren and Dan, what sort of weight are you guys pushing with them on the F-4 and F-106?

As for the post being moved, I wish that Chris would move them back. If he would, I would promise to keep the commercial comments to a simple, "email me". If not, then I will do my best to reclaim what has been put by the wayside, minus sales info, and post it here.

Plans and kit

Hadn't got my plans or kit yet. I think the post office has lost both of them. Very strange. Will complain to postmaster today.
What are the GX parts! You're driving me/us crazy who don't have our plans/kit to refer to.

what is the major weight difference and/or power difference between the AP29L and the Speed 400 Race BB - since they both seem to work very well with the mini fan 480

Dan is using the MF480/AP29L hybrid on 10-CP1300s, and his F-106 if just about exactly 3 lbs.
