Not sure what servo you are talking about, however remember there is minimal load especially on elevator, so it does not require much tourque but must center very accurate ! I use waypoint in mine which are only average performing servos, but cheap and are fine.

Jos you are animal. If you make voodoo any hotter it will dissapear before you know it. Gets small and far away in an eye blink. My set up pulls unlimited verticle and within seconds is a dot. Not sure why you wish to make it any hotter ?

Instructions say 2mm. I run 3mm. 4mm may be pushing it depending on your final AUW.

Give us a report on your maiden

Hello Voodoo2,
I got mine just yesterday. Nice plane.
For the setup, I am afraid a speed 4.8 at 4.75x4.75 with draw too high amp. (you will probably fry it on bench test) as quoted by Mr Spearsley (Sorry for miss spelling, David) here. I think a 4.5x4.1 or 4.1x4.1 can be an initial move.
For noise of ESC, I got bad luck with some brushless setup (before learning from this forum) while the noise from DC motor is easier to handle.

Am installing all my gear at the moment. Probably going to install the servo's as in my picture. It is a clean setup and allows me to experiment.

Going to go for something lite to start with as mentioned. This is what I have at the moment, using a HET-RC 3W on 5,5x4,3" Graupner CAM prop and 2S TP2100 pack. Should be good for 20 amps ish static. Testing to come.

The rest of my gear, one Graupner C-261 and 2 Waypoint W-084. Also a Schulze Alpha 5.35 and a CC Phoenix 45. Taking pictures of the build. This is a realy nice model so I am going to take my time. No mistakes!

Enjoy.

Folders are also nice on landing. However there are not many good one's around in this size.

I also use folders but usualy aeonaut carbon types 6*6 cut down and sanded to 5*6 or 4.7*6

It a lot of work sanding and trimming down but as they rarely break mayby one broken blade every two years

the normal plastic type flatten out too much under high revs so gave up on those

hope to start buyilding mine next month sept using mega 4turn and 8*gp1100

too busy this month fixxing flying crashing holidays etc etc
later upgrade to 8*gp2000 (if they can fit) and mega 2 turn
as KrisS got near 150mph with this motor and 7 *gp2000 and 2 turn and fixxed 4.7*4.7 so recon thats if I use folder 4.7*4.7 and 8 cells should be able to get similar speed

Hi there,

A short video of my slope mate Patrick's Voodoo :

http://gliderireland.modelisme.com/i.../Voodooweb.wmv
(3.3 mb)

Another video will come soon... Note the slow motion in the video in order to see a bit of the voodoo.... Fast fast fast !
I can't remember the setup of his machine, but if interrested, I can ask Patrick !

Enjoy !

Fred
