looks like a really nice airframe - in this size it could be well suited for a quite hot BL-setup. Nice high aspect ratio. How strong is the wing? Are 7-8 cells GP1100 the upper limit or is there enough space for more?

Looks like a mid sized pylon plane between usual pylon 400 planes and "full size" F5D planes. I like the looks a lot!
I also wonder like Eike, how much space is there for cells? What is the airfoil profile?

Looks kinda like a stretched Stinger.....? Looks like more wing area / span - I bet it turns faster
any clue if these will be available in the USA soon? |

Very promising pictures! The fuselage looks quite big, it should offer enough opportunities for diffrent setups.
In the 3rd picture it looks very much like a small carbon spar. Looks like it is prepared for Pylon400BL .The frame for the servo, the linkages, ... look very much like the way that VIP and P5 are made. Keep us updated. Looks very interesting. @dbeardsl: It was mentioned by many other users from the US that Höllein is shipping to the US very quickly. With the $US shoping in Europe might not really be interesting to you at the moment but it was the other way around some month ago... Eike My Homepage |

It is on my wishlist too
![]() @Imi01: What is the weight of the empty model with accessories (on the first photo)? And still, what is the airfoil profile if it is not a secret? Thanks! Miha |

I liked everything until I did a $$$ conversion. 159.00 EUR = 216.670 USD
That's almost enough to buy a full blown F5D airframe. ![]() It looks to me like it was intended to be set up with two servos in the wing with the unequal length rods. I do like the ball links on the aileron torque rods. Were they already attached? The hole in the wing to allow the servos to sit on the upper wing surface is a great idea as well. Is that servo tray and linkage for the ele. included? Nice touch! How deep is the fuse in the battery compartment just below were the ail. servos would sit? With a 33.07" W.S and scaling from the picture you've provided 1.65" fuse width at the front of the wing. Very interesting, if the 10-1100 will fit you could fit a pack of 6- 2200's sideways in there if the linkages clear! Wouldn't surprise me if One More Cell would fit. Here we go........Cell sizes .90" (23mm) x 1.7" (43mm) 3300 .90" (23mm) x 1.3" (34mm) 2200 .69" (17mm) x 1.7" (43mm) 1950 .66" (17mm) x 1.1" (28mm) 1100 1.4" (36mm) x 4 " (100mm) x 0.8" (21mm) TP 2100 |

I got a crazy idea….. No offense meant to Hoellien here, just thinking.
Vince123, I notice you’ve added to your original post with more detail photos and a CAD X-section drawing. Do you have any more info on this model? Another website possibly? It looks like you’ve got some insight - Dose anyone know who actually makes this model? Not Hoellien (they just sell it... I think), but the manufacture. Maybe we can contact them directly and do a group buy. Its not that I wouldn’t want to support Hoellien, but I doubt they’d sell them to a USA group at (or close too) their cost. I've done this many times before on other R/C products from outside the USA. It's a great way to get a select group cool gear without getting killed on cost. I'd love to have 1 or 2, but with dollars strength vs the euro, its gonna be painful unless we can strike a deal someplace. Most of the molded S-400 Pylon models available in the USA are around $160.00, I'd happily pay $160.00 - $180.00 for this model, but it looks like it would be closer to ~$260.00 by the time it was at my door. Has anyone (from the USA) dealt with Hoellien directly before? just looking for a creative way to get one of these. Its a great looking model! |
