Fancy Foam Extra 300L Setup

The Fancy Foam Extra 300L is going to be my first 3D Plane and I have the following for it:

Axi 2212/34
Hitec HFS-04MG Receiver
4x Hitec HS-55 Servos
Phoenix 10
Etec 11.1 1200 Lipo
APC 11x3.8 Prop
APC 11x4.7 Prop
APC 12x6 Prop

I have those parts because that's what I have at-hand.

Now for my questions:

1. With the Axi 2212/34, I have 3 props listed. Which prop should I use?

2. Is the Phoenix 10 ok with this setup? 10 Amps is the max for the Axi which is why I picked this ESC. Or will the Phoenix 10 be a bottle-neck?

3. Hitec HFS-04MG should be fine unless I decide to go with flaps, then I would get the Electron 6.

Thanks!

that depends, how many amps can your battery handle?

with the 11x3.8 at 11.1 volts you will get around 26 ounces of thrust using a little under 9 amps

with the 11x4.7 at 11.1 volts you will get around 28 ounces of thurst using a little over 10 amps

with the 12x6 the amps will be very high which will be bad.

I would go with the 11x3.8 as you get a good 26 ounces of thrust keeping the amps at a safe level.

The average discharge rate is 8.5c and 10c Max, so (please let me know if I'm wrong, still learning):

1c of 1200 = 1.2a x 8.5 = 10.2 Amp Average
1c of 1200 = 1.2a x 10 = 12 Amp Max

You got it..the key factor is the batteries discharge rates here so I have to agree that 12-14 amps is what you wanna shoot for but the Axi can sure handle more when/if you get hogher d/s batteries.
I use an Axi 2212/26 with a GWS 10/4.7 and on the 1320 3s Thunder Power 2nd Gens it is extremely powerful. I have used a 11/4.7 on it before with good results. I have pushed 20 amps thru a CC10 and none of the smoke came out so I think you will be ok with the CC10...you are really going to enjoy the plane and power combo...keep it as light as humanly possible..try not to add ANYTHING that does not have a function to the plane...3 grams here..5 grams there..can really add up fast...I am going to design a 3D foamie that does not need glue real soon..yes a "Snaptite" FFF 3D er..no glue...!

Sounds good.

I'll try the 11x3.8, 11x4.7 and 10x4.7

Now, just gotta wait for the shipment to arrive!
