Turbo Jet 2000 EDF
Am i nuts, or could this be a viable option for an EDF (if the wings were moved forward and up)?

I'm thinking a higher-wing A-6 Intruder sorta idea, powered by an
Electric Jet Factory EDF 200 Race.
From my rough calculations, this model (with a 24" wingspan) has about 1 sq ft of wing area. So, hopefully the model would come in at around 9oz. I haven't weighed the airframe yet, but i'm assuming that the battery will be about 3.5-5.0 oz (350 mah at the min), the edf + motor 1.4 oz, the servos about .5-.75 oz total. The recv'r about the same, the speed control and wiring about 2 oz.
So, that puts me up to.... 9oz w/o airframe.... say 12 oz with all things considered (less some weight if lighter batteries or NimHs). The thrust from the EDF 200 race is approx 4.0 oz static.
So, hopefully 9-11oz wing loading. 4.0 oz thrust... could this work?

The wing area is closer to 90 square inches (I
don't remember the exact number, at the moment).
Take a look at the thread "Wally glider avail.
At walMart again."
It's possible to get those little gliders to
fly as electric R/C's, but there are problems.
