Confused on Zagi Upgrade Please Help Photo Attached
I have researched several great web sites( http://www.yourzagi.com http://www.clubzagi.com http://www.trickrc.com ), looking for a way to get more performance out of my Zagi 400 x. I have desided to do the following:
1. strip tape and recover with ultracoat
2. Install Flat Carbon Fiber in Wings
3. Replace origional Canopy and tray with Chloroplast
4. Install magnatec mahem 22 wind reverse motor
5. 10 cell 12V 1700 mha amp battery
Here are my questions?
1. I know these are exterme mods but does anybody suggest anything different?
2. Which prop would be better 5.5 x 4.5 or 7 x 4?
3. The mm has 3.2mm shaft what size shaft adaptor should I use for the above props?
4. With a reversed motor do I use a standard prop?
5. Does the prop go on letters out or letters in?
6. In the 12v 10 cell 1700mha pack should I use a or sub c cells and how should I orrient them for best fit?
Thanks in advance for your help attached is a photo of some friends and planes, I am the one with the white zagi, 5 of the other planes are also mine. Enjoy....

the recommend prop for the mag mayhem is a 6x5. the 7x4 would be too much. the 5.5 x 4.5 would work, but the 6x5 would probably be a little faster. the prop is mounted "letters forward", meaning that the lettering should be facing the motor. a "normal" prop can be used.
to mount the prop, i found a prop adapter made by astro at my local hobby shop. i think the prop shaft is 6mm, which fits the APC props perfectly.
use the CP1700s, which are 4/5 Sub C size. the best configuration would probably be side by side, but i don't know the dimensions of your battery tray, so you'll have to measure it yourself.

i don't have a zagi, but i use the MM in my spitfire, and it's awesome. i have read many reports that the MM is great for flying wings, so i'm sure you'll be happy with it. if you're wondering how the handling will be with the extra weight, it will probably not be able to fly as slowly, so landings will be a little faster. however, it will handle wind better.

The MM with a 6 x 5 is a great upgrade. You will not be diappointed.
I have only run it with an 8 x cp1300 pack, but I hear the 10 x cp1700 is great.
Make sure you get the ball bearings for the Mag Mayhem: part #LXD080 at Tower Hobbies. See http://www.yourzagi.com/bearings.htm for info on how to install them.
You are upgrading the ESC, correct? You'll fry the stock Zagi one with that setup.
I also covered with UltraCote. I am very pleased with the results.

I didn't on this plane, it's still the stock speed 400.
On my other (A Mini-Zagi), I just cut a 'U' out of the canopy where the motor was.
I have since converted the Mini to the 2mm coroplast tray. Works great, even with the heavier Mag Mayhem . Just make sure it is fastened down well.
I didn't like the look of the coroplast canopy, though, so I just fly it without a canopy.
