Wot 4 conversion

Hi,

Has anyone converted a wot 4 to electric?

If so, what batteries do you use?

Thanks

Hi Brian

Welcome to RC Groups

Yep there have been a few Wot-4s converted to electric - two are described in this thread

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=306677

I've used 16xCP2400s and been very pleased with them and have just made up a pair of 8xGP3300 NiMhs to use in the Wot-4 as well. I found that I needed all the battery weight I could use, right up front to counteract the effect of lightweight motor and short nose.

Of course you will have to change the name to "watt for?"

LMAO! Thanks. So a 4s2p would probably not be enough? I built mine at 4.5 lbs (glow)? This would be too heavy I am starting to believe?

Thanks

My battery pack weighs 2lbs 3oz on it's own. The airframe weight is around about 4lbs 3oz, including the motor, motor mount, esc, radio gear, prop, prop nut and receiver pack, giving an AUW of 6lbs 6oz. The key thing is whether you actual model will balance with the lightweight LiPo pack, you may need to switch gear around but if you could accomplish that then it would be doable at lighter than the weight mine ended up.
