Ultrafly Cessna 182 Motor - Battery Help
Hi there Forum.
I just bought a Ultrafly Cessna 182, and its come with a speed 400 motor and geared setup.
See above link, I think it that.
Anyway. Because it is a Speed 400 motor and geared, will my 2S 3100 mah, 12C rated constant polyquest pack, be sufficient for this bird?
Or will I have to get a 3S lipo pack?
The current pack weighs 150grams.
Does the fact that its geared make it able to use a smaller battery pack or a bigger one? Meaning more or fewer cells?
You help would be greatly appreciated.

2 cells wont cut it .
you need 3 for the speed 400 to work.
the packs you have a very heavy for a little ultrafly model.
the 3s 1500 polyquests or 1800 slim packs are good if you can make them fit.
on 3s of the currnt packs u may need to drop a prop size to keep the amps below 12 or the motor will burn up quickly.

If a 8Cell Nimh 1100 pack which is the recommended pack
weighs 169 Grams
I would think the PQ-2600mah-3S pack is the best choice as it
weighs 163 Grams.
Or am I missing something?

I am pretty sure that ultrafly recommend a 10 cell pack for their planes not 8.
the 2600 will be heavy to cart around, you wont need more than the 1500's, but you wont have the duration of the 2600's

The 8cell 1100 pack will work well with the beginner wing. It should also be able to run fine with the advanced wing that the kit comes with. However, if you have the choice, I would go with either a 10cell pack or a 3s lipo pack.
The falcon400 motor that comes with the ultrafly cessna is not a regular 400 motor. It is wound differently. It is designed to work at 12v. I believe 12A is the maximum current it can handle without frying.
I run a 3 cell lipo pack with my cessna. @11A max, and I'm not having any difficulties.
