Flying in Clearwater Fla.

Are there still people flying on Michigan Ave. in Dunedin? Been by there a few times and haven't seen anyone. Also, how about Osceola High in St. Pete.

Any other places in the area?

I am in Clearwater on the weekends and looking for someplace to fly in the mornings.

Hi Sam, I'm not sure about the Dunedin group, haven't made it up there yet. On Sundays we fly at Osceola Middle school, it's next door to the high school. Saturdays at a temporarily vacant lot on 72nd Street and 112th Ave North. About two months ago 'For Sale' signs appeared and a couple of weeks ago we heard it had sold and construction would be starting soon. There's no telling how much longer we have at that field. Weekdays we fly at Walter Fuller soccer fields in St Pete, the place is deserted when the kids are in school.

Looking for a new Saturday field. Vacant lots without no-trespassing signs are hard to find.

Sam, there were about 20 of us at Michigan Ave (Dunedin library) on Sunday morning, at least til around 10:30am. Got pretty windy after that. My first trip down from Port Richey, nice group!

Wayne, I'm determined to make it down there, just a long drive from here!

Sam, the best flying hours are from sunup until the wind picks up, or the batteries are all used up, whichever comes first.

JR, I understand about the long drive, that's the main thing keeping me from going up there. I already live about ten miles south of the Saturday and Sunday fields. Luckily only two miles from the weekday field.
