If you can get a carb or yours is still good the crankcase part can be replaced by using Devcon aluminum putty. It can be filed and/or machined after it hardens.

Yes it will hold up. I've seen intake manifolds made of Devcon aluminum putty on go-kart racing engines. They were formed, machined, drilled, and then tapped. I used it on the forward side of my boat outdrive. It was formed into a sharpened cone of sort that allowed the boat to attain 2 mph more in top speed. I accidentally scraped it hard on the pavement at a launch ramp one time. It acted as if it was made of the same metal the the outdrive case was made, just a small bend in the tip.

I just did a Google Search for "Devcon Aluminum Putty" and came up with quite a few places that sell it.

I was at our airfield yesterday and saw a damaged engine that was fixed with JB Weld. He had broken off one of the muffler bolt thing-a-ma-bobs and had molded a new one from JB Weld. It was drilled and tapped to hold on the mufler. It seemed to be holding up well.

The green retracts are Supras made by OK Models. The red ones are made by MK. Both are made in Japan. The Supras are probably for 60 size planes. The MKs are for 20-30 size. Both of them are pretty good units.

The red, MK, retracts should work on any plane in the 20-30 size range. Yes, the green, Supra, units should be satisfactory for a 40 - 60 size war bird. They are both mechanical. They work best with a retract type servo, that rotates 180 degrees.

I hope this helps.
