Here is my latest project. All 3mm depron, doubled under nose on vertical and horizontal fuses. Was trying for 10 oz.

I will change the decals by this weekend (I have a funtana so was able to make decals from it).

mtr and prop: AXI 2208-34, apc 10 x 4.7 slo fly
esc: CC 10
bats: 3S 830 lipos
rec: electron 6
servos: (3) HS 55s and (1) Fut 3108 on the rudder.

AUW 10-1/2 ounces.

Hope to maiden this afternoon if the wind slows down a little more .

Thank you.

39-1/2" wingspan, all 3mm depron, 10-1/2 ounces auw. Needed it to keep the airframe from flexing too much.

I have a funtana, so I was able to make decals from it. Will get some Katana pics tomorrow and change them.

Maiden this afternoon!!!

Just got back from maiden!

Flys really great! Very crisp manuevers. Does it all, hover, harrier, inverted, killer snaps, rolling circle (as well as I can do ). About 11 mins on TP 3S 830s.

I was a little concerned as this is a large airframe for 3mm, but it worked out great.

Really happy with it. Will fly it again in the morning.

Forgot to mention, 39-1/2" wingspan, 4.8 wing load .

I thought that the 3d foamy kits were either tufflite or ultrafoam?

Outstanding looking plane Bill!

I notice 3dfoamy normally recommend a 2212 fr their planes, how does it go with the 2208? I have similar power train from a shocky, so I was just wondering if it'd work in the (larger) kantana. Can u still hover over the last 3rd of the battery life?

And i always thought the 10 x 4.7 was a bit of a load for the 2208 on 3s...any thoughts?

Shaggy...www.3dfoamy.com is where the plans come from and the kits...Levi uses only Depron and FFF in his kits but you can use what ever you desire for the construction.

This isn't a kit, I down loaded the plans and cut it from 3mm depron.

Thank you,

I used the 2208-34 on a 13-1/2 ounce plane previously. It has no problems hovering to the end of the pack. This plane is 10-1/2 ounces so it is not too much of a load. I also have a 2208-34 on a sorta tensor at 9-1/2 ounces and it hovers to the end of the pack also.

The prop is ok, I would normally run a 10x3.8 but the LHS is out. May stick a 9 x 3.8 on and see how she flys.

Great Kit bash! (Thats a good thing) I have been thinking of the same thing and just hadn't found the time to do it...

Do the ailerons have enough rigidity at the larger span? That was one of my concerns with the 3mm at 40"

Thank you,

The only thing I bashed was the color scheme and the funatana decals. I will get some pics of a Katana 90 and make new decals.

I didn't see any flexing, it flys really crisp and clean.

I'm very happy with the plane.

Thank you for the plans.
