Need Help with Sluggish Ailerons...!

As yyou can see by the pictures below I have plenty of aileron surface and throw but the plane is slow to begin rolling but once rolling it does great. The servo is a Pico BB Nero @ 12-15 in. oz. of thrust. Most of my flying is very slow with lots of K/E work(I am trying to get as good as Josh ) and when I am in K.E I like to snap it fast back to same K/E but with the sluggish strart at the roll beginning I am just not comfortable about it. This plane does the easiest K/E of any flat foamie I have ever built and the K/E elevators are a thing of beauty and the hover and TR's are almost effortless...this plane does everthing so damn good but the sluggish start at the roll has really got me scratching my poor old bald head. I have 2HS 55's that I could do a 1 ea. on the ailerons and I also have a JR 281 digital that does not fade out under load like the Picos do...I am thinking this may be my problem but any light shed my way would be nice...

I use two HS55 servos on alerons on any 3D plane over 250 sq.in. or 8 oz.

uses dual 55s on all of his models. If they are good enough for him, well.

Glue can fix that.

It may be possible that under load the outside half of the ailerons is not deflecting, ie, the aileron is warping. This means until the plane starts to roll only the inside of the aileron is effective.
solutions:
1 move control horn more lateral on the aileron.
2 stiffen the aileron.

Those ailerons may be too small. If you look on the Aftershock or Shock Flyer, they're almost 50% of the wing cord.

The ailerons could be twisting the wing in flight too.

I would go with two servos and move them out from center. This will increase deflection speed and reduce any twisting that may be present.

Have you thought about prop torque? The roll to the left should be noticeably better than rolling to the right. IMO... Which way are you having trouble rolling?

Your servo might also be twisting in it's mount. It appears to be just glued in, maybe some balsa rails to spread the load out?

Thanks for all the ideas...I think the easiest and probably the actual fix is 1 servo per aileron...will give this a try and post results. I am probably over taxing the Pico trying to drive 2 ailerons this size anyaway and it's only 9 grams more with 2 servos.
I may make the ailerons bigger as well as add some boost tabs to the aileron tips...this plane is as close to being perfect as any plane I have built yet and if I could get the roll crisper at the beginning this plane will be fantastic.
I will try to get some video this weekend of the K/E elevators/slides.

Too much wing area and not enough control surface.

One thing you can do to increase the roll rate is to taper the leading edges of the wing itself, similar to a CAP or extra...

I agree with rodger. it apears that you have quite a bit of area out at the tip. If you were to take 1-2" off the tip L.E. and taper the cut to the root your roll rate would greatly increase. Plus it should make it lock on a little better in harrier(less wing rock). This mod should not affect the KE and hover charecteristics that you enjoy.

I disagree LE taper makes wing rock worse. IMO
