The Macchi was seen flying superbly. As was the Walrus, high up and making lazy circles in the sky as it flew OOS ..... sad....

you are exceptions to the rule though. Guess that means we have been living longer than you have lived! Never mind, the experience will come with time. Don't think I could see well enough to make models like those any more. Certainly wouldn't dare risk flying them! |

I'm 19, one of my flying buddies is 16 (and he's already placing in contests!), and I know another guy who's in his 20's. There is some young blood coming into the hobby. And we have a lot to learn from those who are older and wiser!

I will admit that electric rc coversions of rubber powered jobs makes retrieval a lot easier--the old knees are not up to chasing anymore.

I'm bashing away at C Rupert Moore's "Viper" with brushless and lipos. Still intend to carve a big Garami paddle-blade for it though!
Wot would they have thought? |

If you are doing free flight you are
learning the best way. Glad to hear there are some young 'uns to take our place. Don't be too sure about learning from 'rasins'. You will, but there is also such a thing as progress. Sure we will be only too pleased to hand on any knowledge we have acquired if you are not too busy hareing off down wind retrieving in a half gale!!! Best of luck. |

It's been on the go since Li Po was a Freshman at Confusus High! Always remember, Grasshopper, you are unique. Just like everyone else.  I started with the idea of a can motor when they were the latest thing; then an Olympus with AP36; then an Astro Geared 035; now I'm drilling the formers for an Astro 020 and Superbox. I will probably finish it when fusion cells are demode. I have simplified the structure a bit but the fuselage was nicked from my house in the UK; since I didn't know anybody whose house had not been broken into, or car stolen, that was hardly unusual. Maybe one day....looks ideal for modern gear. Big roundels on silver wings, reminds me of those bent wire-and-silk chuck gliders we used to get as kids. Ahhh.. |

Just as an aside, this chap gives terrific service if you're after a few old stalwarts - Keil Kraft and Mercury kits - just brought out a "short kit" of the KK Chief, it's worth it for the plan alone!
