That's a gorgeous build.

Is there a reference somewhere talking about how to do rigging? Or is it just trial and error? For me, it's been mostly error on my rigging.

I used thread for the wing support wires. Not really scale, as the full scale ship used streamlined steel "wires" that have a symetrical airfoil cross section. My wires are for show; the wing is fullysupported by four basswood cabane sturts anchored firmly in the fuselage and wing.

I live in Rochester, NY, not far from Lake Ontario. Geneseo, fabled home of the annual FAC meets, the Empire State Championships, and the Great Grape Gathering (see the latest issue of the NFFS Digest), is a 45 minute drive south.

I finally got around to covering LD2W3. The wing surface is still a bit crunkley
as I have not yet shrunk it with thinned dope, as per the instructions.

Yes ---that is the correct size prop. And the nose block still needs painting.

A better view,I eliminated the U/C leg and wheel, as I don't intend to ROG it.

Very neat. You just know it is going to perform.
Thanks for sharing.
See the boss wouldn't let you use a bedsheet for
backing!
Like your stand. Think it might be more colourful
filled with red or amber nectar.

All the best for the New Year to all of you freeflighters. May your rubber never snap.

Here is a couple of pics of my peanut Percival Mew Gull.
There is a story behind that. When I was a nipper we had daily comic newspapers during the week. I think it was the "Hotspur" in which I saw the story of a man who bought a Mew Gull, painted it blue, called it "Blue Wings", and bolted a couple of Lewis Guns to the Spats. He intended to fly it in Spain against the Franco fascists. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately for him) Blue Wings was destroyed on the ground by strafing ME 109s he before he could get into action. Hence my model is called "Blue Wings".

Had a few days off and thought I'd build myself a "Mini" Mini Madcap shrunk down to 26in. for my .25cc Schlosser.

What you going to do? Fly it over one of your bush fires
to see how far and how long it would go for?

Only kidding. Just envy you your summer at the moment.
