Look at that....Vol II. Got some more work in on my Porter last night. I used Solite white and I was concerned that the about how solid the white would be so I misted the entire airfrome with white spray paint which definatly helped out but it added 12 grams, wonder if I would have been better off using Oracover?. Here is a Picture of her so far, the Idea for the scheme it from a full scale version I found on-line. She is getting there, should have her ready for maiden early next week.

Cheers,
Jim

Nicely done, LJH. Circles happen to be a pet peeve of mine as I can never get them perfect when I'm cutting them. Got any tips?

As I'm too lazy to look back, whoever's Swiss Porter that is in the previous thread, that's nicely done as well

Martin,
I actually cheated, I used Avery transparent (not quite but worked well on the white) ink jet adhesive sheets and just used the Paint Program in windows, nice thing is you dont have to cut them out perfectly. I was up till 0230 last night cutting these darn things out but I think it is going to look pretty good. I want to add some more details like putting aluminum tubing around the gear wire to make it look like it has struts, also want to put running bords on it for the skydivers to stand on before they take that last step . How have you guys hinged the Ailerons? Solite over under hinges?

Cheers,
Jim

Well, here she is just about done. Just have to install the servos and she is good to go. All up weight look like she will be right at 25oz using a seperate Rx. battery, not sure how the BEC will like 6 servos and a 3 cell TP2100 GenII pack. Power comes from a brushed GWS 400 drive with , I believe 5.33:1 gears, turning a GWS 4 bladed prop. with the 6V sp400 it is pulling 16amps . I dont think it will last long but I will install a P480 once it dies. Looking forward to do Touch and goes with the flaps .
