power hungry RD6000

Did some searches, and it seems this can be a problem. I changed to a fresh 600mah nicd pack, and get about 4 flights (10 min or so) flights before it tanks to 9.6v which registers "half" on the battery moniter bar. I dont like flying below that.. so i top it off when it gets to that point. Was thinking about a RD8000 just for kicks, but that has the same battery. Thinking i should just make up a pack of nice AA nims.. Any leads on where i can find some with solder tabs? Frys?

Hmmm my RD8000 is not a hog at all. On the stock 600 mA Nicads I get 1.5 - 2 hours on "on" time. I'm so happy I have not upgraded to NiMh yet!
