J-3 scratch build recommendations

What a great site!
I have been out of the hobby for quite sometime but I am thinking about getting back in.
Can anyone give me their recommendation for plans to scratch build a 1/4 or 1/3 scale Piper J-3?
Thanks!

Plumber,
Thanks for the link to the plans discussion.
Does anyone have any experience with the Hostetler plans?
Does anyone have an opinion on how they compare to the Balsa USA plans?
Thanks!

Can't offer a comparison, but I can tell you that the Balsa USA plans are "stand-way-back-scale", and if it is the L-4 variant you want, the BUSA plans result in something that looks like a bastardized NE-1 : it looks like a J-3 in side view and sorta like an L-4 in top, front, and rear views.

By the time I figured out how far wrong the BUSA kit was, I was stuck with the thing. Almost three years down the building road and I'm finally ready to start covering; I got the cabin structure as close as I could without scrapping the fuse and starting over, but I'm done with trying to fix that POS kit.

Plumber,
Sorry to hear about your travails with the L-4.
I own N3403K.
The Cub that is on display in the EAA AirVenture Museum at Oshkosh.
In my previous RC life I was involved with pattern and helicpopters.
Now that I am more mature (read older!) I think I would like to give giant scale a try.
After all, I shouldn't have any trouble obtaining documentation!
