Ho 229 Build -- EDF Mounting and Duct

I am working rough fitting of the EDF and the duct. The duct will not stick out as far as it is in the picture. I am working on the proper 4 degee thrust angle.

Latest and greatest pictures. The starboard servo is roughed in along with the linkage. The control linkage will be hidden inside of the wing. Both exhaust ports are also roughed in.

Very cool Jeff! Have you thought about posting in the Jet Forum as well? I'm confident you will get tons of replies there.

Regards!

Paul,

Thank you for the idea to post on the Jet Forum. I won't be able to do that since RC Groups frowns on cross forum postings.

PROJECT UPDATE:

Both elevon servos are installed. I'll finish the port elevon control linkage today and finish sanding the wing tips and leading edge. The two wing panels will be glued together Saturday afternoon I am using System Three T-88 structural adhesive.

This did not take as long as I thought.

I glued the two wing panels together this evening. I have also included a picture of the elevon contol horn.

Steve,

Thank you.

Next steps are to install the fans in the airframe, cut the elevons off and prepare them for hinging.

Jeff

P.S. I uploaded a new video of the N9M landing at:

Jeff,

Man I love the planform of this airplane! It's looking really sweet. I'm interested in seeing how you are going to handle the inlets.

I posted a reference to your thread in the Jet's forum. Considering the amount of interest in the Ho IX I have seen over there, you should probably see more people chiming in on this thread.

Regards!

Paul,

Thanks for inviting the electric jet gang over for a look.

I am working on the inlets while the structural epoxy (T-88) dries on the carbon fiber spars. I am using foam, fiberglass and resin to build the inlets.
