I just copied down a whole lot of stuff from the battery forums trying to educate myself. I use a bunch of 8C rated lipos. 1200mAh 2-cell 1500mAh 2-cell 1500mAh 3-cell What is the formula for figuring out the amps I can use on these packs? They are all 8C rated and I feel I have pushed a few a little too far. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ken
 Oct 27, 2004, 12:33 AM n00b Beavercreek, Ohio Joined Sep 2004 164 Posts if your using 1500mah 3c lipo at 8c discharge the max amp u can use woudl be 8 x 1.5 = 12 amps. How we get that 8 (8c) x 1.5 (1500mah) = 12amps

According to your data my batteries should be fine. We were concerned because we are flying our Yard Sticks with GWS 350/c gears using the 1200mAh 2 cell lipos. We noticed during our last few flights that our flight times were decreasing a good bit. The last time I checked with the Whattmeter, we were only pulling about 8amps static. After flying our motors are not too hot, the batteries are fairly warm...almost hot. Power is real good, but flight times are down. Any comments are greatly appreciated. BTW...we use the same batteries in our GWS warbirds (1500 2 cell) pulling 7.6amps static. Thanks again Sean, Ken
