Motor for ST model YAK

HI,

I have the ST model YAK 54 and I'm looking for the right motor for it.

I want only outrunner, so I thought on

AXI 22/8/34
22/12/26
22/12/34

I have now Hacker B20-22s with good performance, I just don't like the response of these geared motors.

Thanks.

Search for the main T3D III thread here in the forum for more details...

I use a 2212/26 and 1047 prop and tp3s 1320. My plane is heavier than target weight, but I fly outdoors in winds, so it works well for me. Really, any of the 3 motors you posted will work, depending upon how much vertical power you want and how big a prop you want to spin.

Hope this helps a little--good luck with the plane!

Well, I saw another yak in indoor meeting with 22/8/34 and it was unreal!!!
What awesome waterfall he done.

I just bought the new Himax outrunner and a new TP 1320 too.
Until now I flew it with the hacker and 10x4.7 gws, heavy tail even with the 11.1 pack as front as i can, hope the new motor will weight a little bit more.

Thanks.

I've heard the Himaxx outrunner is pretty good too.

Himaxx outrunner looks nice. Good price point, all options you need (prop saver, front/back mounting hardware) are included, and its supposed to be in the same performance range as the Axi 2212's, as I recall...check the power systems forum for more info. Good luck finding them in stock--share a source that has them available now with da' Johnny! (after you order one yourself, of course!).

That Yak would do real nicely with the 2208/34 on 2s or 3s would be light.
