U812: Happy to see everything worked out, looking forward to the 'post Turkey Day' run report! BTW, Happy Turkey Day! All those other kits .... you're becoming a prolific builder

that looked very nice out on the water!

I saw this model at my LHS and ummed and arred about getting it and converting it, and decided that it was a bit of a risk, however seeing your conversion and the great job you did so i am now going to get one and have a go myself, but i want to make it a static diver

Thanks guys but that's nothing. You should see my ceiling. Looks like the air and space museum and they all fly.

I've got one of those trumpeter Wilhelm Bauers, and one of the old otaki motorized subs. Conversion is tough...
You know, revell made a small 14" long US Sub that people have converted? Will go great in your pool...

A little bit. And sterling chriscrafts, and some scale boats...a lot of submicro conversions of plastic ships to radio control using servos as motors and speed controls.
A fellow from Australia sent me an article on doing the conversion from Scale Boat Modeler some years back, it was for the Revell USS Lionfish...he also sent me the kit(where is it? Dunno!) and some pics of his conversion...it was just too cute, about 14" long, dynamic diving, easily manueverable around a pool...
I did one of these Japanese kits last winter, I think it is the I-114, with a seaplane on a ramp on the deck, it's a very old kit, and it uses this wacky mechanism to dive and surface as a free sailing model. Put in on the shelf and forgot about it, by the time I remembered I had built it, the sailing season was gone! Oh, well, next year.

I have one of those Lionfish kits. I'd love to see the conversionas I always wanted to do it myself but though it was too small.

I wish I could find the article. It is not very different a conversion from the Uboat you just did...everything is just smaller!

Found the Lionfish. Was attacked by several spiders and cobwebs along the way but worth it. The model is bigger than I had remembered. Found the big Revell Typhoon too.

Again it can be converted too and looks real nice.

Guys sorry for the delay on the video but I've been busy with THC and other clients doing CGI animation effects. I should get a break in a few days and I'll do it then. Then on to the Kilo. I'll start a new thread for the Kilo so that you guys that want to convert one can follow along.

Any comments and suggestions are always welcome as I'm new to subs but not RC in general. I've been building jets and planes for years from scratch but subs are another learning curve!
