New Design You Gotta See This!!!! Pics!

this is a "secret" prototype ducted fan "jet" ....it is one of 2 in existence..

it flew as stable as anything in the air today! unbelievable power with cd-rom in fan unit...on 3S was ballistic..and this was all indoors!

it looks like something out of star wars, but you had to see it to believe how unbelievably well this thing flew..it was simply amazing...you could have heard a pin drop in the gym!!

here are the pics that turned out....

I will take 2 of them. Where do you get them? Looks like Shane's hand holding it. Who's is it? What is it? Maybe you can keep them busy while I grab it and run

Birdie that is one fantastic looking plane!!
Excellent craftmanship. Looks like you plucked it right out of a SciFi movie.
That beauty will sell like crazy.

I've seen a very similar plane as a hand launch glider but the were asking about $30 for the 18" version. I can't remember the name of it off hand. Did he make that from the glider or is a scratch build?

Steve-S

Edit: Aha. The X-Stream glider as posted in the other thread linked to in the above post. Nice to see it fly powered.

That is way cool. I'm disappointed that it can fly indoors though, I want mine to do more like 80 mph

I have the foam glider version, supposedly the guy that makes them is workin on an RC version but I'm like you, I want one now. I got the biggest one he makes, 15" span I think and did a little research on internal wing ducting. The concept is kinda kool. The unit is made from a pretty dense yet plyable material like the make beer can coolers out of. rigid enough to keep it's shape yet you can stuff it in the dirt and it doesn't hurt it. The foamy I got could be mande into a pusher pretty easy but I wanted DF instead. Might be one of those winter projects. Seeing that video ads a little inspiration
