GWS EDF Jet Trainer flies!

Well guys, Gregg launched it and guess what happened, it flew. I had a little too much rudder control but it
was easy to control anyway. Pitch was good and gaining altitude was no problem. I only flew it for about 3
mins. or so, but I could have flown at full power for over 5 it would seem. Can fly on reduced throttle and
lands on a dim. Once power is completely shut down she continues to glide even with no sudden drop in
airspeed. Drag is low. With the F-86, I find I have to land on a little power. No complaints here, she was
perfect. Fast for a parkflyer, but it can turn so tight you'd have no problem flying in a small park. Gregg wants
one with ailerons, will see. If I kit this you will have the option.
Can't wait to fly it again, what a kick in the pants!

If you haven't seen the the construction details of this plane, look at the early thread in this forum.

Congrats Steve!

I didn't think you'd have any problem with her.... If you can, post some video, I'd like to see her go.

Thanks guys. Ya, the F-86. This will fly circles around the F-86. It just gets up and goes like any good electric
plane. Other designs will follow that will have that jet fighter look you all crave. But this plane will close the
gap a little to those who are a little hesitant to try EDF.
Here's the pics you wanted to see.
Thanks again,
Steve

Battery and elevator servo locations. You can just see the JR receiver, 5 amp ESC is right behind the battery.

Mike,
I will get someone to show up next week to shoot video. My camera is down right now. Hey, if any local E Zoner's can help with video, let me know and we'll set a time.

Should I kit this? This type of kit I can produce from home. If there's enough interest I might generate a few. Let hear what you think.
