E-Flite Park 370 Brushless Motor Question compared to Himax

is thepark 370 -4100 b/l motor exactly the same as the himx 2015-4100 besides the label on the motor? cause i was looking and it seems that the Eflite has a lower amp rating, is this just a recomended rating or is this the rating with the motor at its max performance.?

The motors don't even look the same.

Look at the himax here http://www.espritmodel.com/

and the e-flight here. http://www.horizonhobby.com/Shop/ByC...rodID=EFLM1000

Dont have a thrust figure, but it hovers a 14 oz. foamy at a tad under 1/2 throttle.

The E-flight IS made by the same company that makes the Himax motors. Look at the new E-flight outrunner on Horizon's site and compare it to the new outrunner from Himax too...they are the same ! I sell both motors and know that they are the same motor, BUT sometimes different companies do source from the same builder and can specify a different tolerance on quality control .

I am not saying that Horizon has specified any different tolerances than Maxxproducts , just that sometimes that is done to be able to drop the "as delivered" prices . That is why Home Depot can sell a John Deer lawn tractor much cheaper than the ones at the John Deer dealers...they are much looser tolerances and less strict on the quality control of the ones going to Home Depot and some parts are specified a lower grade ( not to say they aren't good either ! ). I really don't think they would even change anything but the case colors and label, and why would they as it would really be easier to manufacture the raw motors all on the same line and actually make the overall price lower due to the higher quantity being produced. Just my opionions though ! I have seen NO differences in the 2 motors myself and both are a great deal !

I know you sell both the motors but they say eflite 370 can only handle 8 amps and the himax can handle 10, are these actually the same motors or is one a cheaper made one?

E-Flight just says 8 amps to keep their liabilities down, they will easily handle 10 amps max. ! I have run some as far as 13 or 14 amps ( don't purposely do this either ) burst to make sure they are going to hold up to someone accidently propping /gearing one wrong . Running them in the heatsink gearbox from Maxx Products is even better as it helps them cool better at higher amp draws up to 10 amps.
