Are my TP2100 3S packs unbalanced?

I am two TP2100 G2 pack with about 15 cycles on them. They haven't really given my the performance I was excepting and tonight I noticed something.

I notice a drastic drop in power about 10 minutes in to a flight with my Zoom heli. The drop is something like 30-40%. I land, check temp on pack, 117 deg and check voltage, 10.88 volts! After resting the pack and allowing in to cool to room tempature, the resting voltage is 11.1 volts! I charge the pack and it take 1940mah...

I thought this was nornaml until I flew the Zoom with a Kokam 1500 3S pack until LVC kicked in at 9.0, landed, check pack temp, 138 deg and pack voltage 9.44 volts! After cooling and resting voltage is 9.55!

Should I call TP and send in my packs for testing? The date code on the pack is 8/4/04.

Thanks!

Brian

Charlie has stated quite a few times that a Thunder Power battery is over-discharged if it does not rise to a resting voltage of 3.4v/cell after the discharge.

Why do you say it was over discharged? The TP is a 2100mah and the Kokam is a 1500mah pack.

The TP resting was 10.88V
The Kokam resting was 9.44V

If anything the Kokam was overdischarged.

Something's wrong with the TP, don't you think?

Looks like with the recovery voltage of 9.44V is low, repeated use of the 1500s pack(or any Li-Poly pack) under this condition would likely cause one cell to fail prematually.
Anyway, you can call TP on Monday, they should be able to take care of you.
*Recovery voltage should be 10 to 15% higher than the cutoff voltage.

Regards,
Charlie
