Good pictures Patrik. Going by the video on you tube, of her being towed to Cournceau for restoration, the walk way covered in your pictures is open again, as one of the crew walks through it. Maybe it was opened later on or only whilst she was laid up after the sinking ? Food for thought. Well spotted though, also with the door positioning etc. Keep the updates comming. This is making me want to build another !!!! Dan.

I agree with cutting the #6 frame, I cut all but a 1/2" all the way around. My speaker(4") anchore winch, acesse to the trapeze wiring, lighting for the bow port holes and the nose are through the #6.
My rear deck from the #6 back is also removable.

A friend of mine was in london last weekend. He took with him a Revell model home to me. For some reason, the manufacturer has changed the name of the boat to the Neptune. model represents calypso 72 -78 years, but can be built in which version you want to build.

Good to see they have re-released the kit after all these years. I assume the name change is because they have to pay the Cousteau soceity for useing the Calypso name. Dan.

WOW glad to see it back, under any name. I'll have to get one for my micro r/c collection.
I just ordered a kit should have it the end next week. I will R/C it, just not as many functions as my Billings.

Gill, why not do a build thread of your RC conversion? It would fit perfectly in the new micro boats section. I, for one, would follow along!

I will do a build thread.
Now as to motor and battery placement:
My motors are just about where the kit cals for them. the 2 6volt 4ah gel cells sit just in front of the motors. The rear cell is apppox. 6 mm (1/4") from the back of the motors. The two cells sit on thier wide sides with the bottoms to the stern.

I am so very much impressed with the skills shown on the builds on this thread. I just wish I would get my boat soon. I heard from Ray at Historic Ships last weekend, and he said Billing was having a problem with the machine that vac's the hull, and that there were no Calypso's in his most recent shipment. I hope Billing gets their little problem fixed soon because with all this info on the thread, I'm drooling to get this project started.

Well I received the 1:125 Calypso yesterday. As soon as I start it I'll start a build thread in Micro boats. Since I like things to function anyone care to guess how many I can stuff in a 13 inch boat. Should be fun. Now I just have to finnish the big one.
