Logo 10: Can you go up twice in a row?

I've bought a Logo 10. If I pair it with the Kontronic 600-15 and 40-6-18 can you land change packs and go right back up? Or does the motor need to cool down? If so, how long?

Thankyee
Chad

Thats depends on alot of factors. Today was 55 and after a flight, my Hacker 8L and 10 cell pack were not even warm. 2 days ago it was almost 80 and after a run they were hot and I had to wait 10 minutes. For batteries, the secret to long life is to allow them to rest betreen charges/runs. I always have at least 4 packs and number them. I charge/run in order, never allowing a pack to do anything back to back. All my brushless motors are allowed to cool betreen flights. Especially with heatsinks, they can cool down really quick. Dont push it cause not only can you damage the motor,ESC and batteries, but also destroy your heli.

My thinking is: If you can fly for 8 minutes, land and swap packs on the runway, then go right back up for another 8 thats 16 total. Thats 1 more than a Raptor on a full tank, then there would be no real difference between E & IC, except you'd have to land for 30 seconds.

Do you think the Hacker BL50-15L & Future 45HO would stay cooler than the FUN 600-15?

The specs on the motors are so close I doubt there is any difference. OTOH, you can get that nice finned heatsink for the Hacker which would make a difference. In anycase, as JIMJAM said, these days @ 55 degrees or less sure you can land and swap packs right away. My Tango has a hradly detectable heatrise and the controller is downright cold, it is different iin the summer though.

If you mount a computer cooling fan on the end of a cardboard tube and drop that over the motor when you land it only takes 4-5 minutes to cool it down.

Hi!

I have the BL50-15L and future 45Ho combo on my Eco with 10 cells. (The Eco really moves with this set up BTW!).

Today was a warm/hot day in sunny southern California. 30C start temp on both the motor and ESC and 70C end temp on both after 8:00 minutes of flight time.

I don't think I would subject my motor and ESC to an immediate second run with a starting temp of 70C.

Besides, _I_ am "done" for a few minutes myself after an 8 minute flight. I don't think I could fly a heli for 15 or 20 minutes straight.

I have a 12volt fan that I place over the motor and ESC to cool it down. It brings the cool down time down from 10 minutes to only 4 or 5 minutes. For me, that is a nice rest stop, pull the spent batteries off the heli, put them in the cooling tube, check the state of the other batteries charging and start getting ready for the next flight. So, back to back flights are about 15 minutes from lift off to next lift off.

On a cool day the landing temp on my Logo 20 motor is 50C or less. On days like that I have gone up again in less than 2-3 minutes. The second flight ends a bit hotter, 55C to 65C. I have never done a third flight immediatly. I have too much $$$ invested in these motors/controllers and the last thing I need is to be worried that I should have waited 5-10 minutes as I am flying around a hot motor.

No, totally unsuitable. Pick something with a Kv between 1000 and 1800 and big enough to run continiously @ 250 watts.

yes unless you fly with >40C air temp.

I do this also with my Logo20 (HP 300/25/A3 heli with 20cells and 1600rpm) after flying hard 3D. Only things that are warm are the batteries (also in summer no problem).
